What a 10 minute timer is good for
Ten minutes is the sweet spot for tasks you have been avoiding. It is short enough that starting costs nothing and long enough to make visible progress, which is the whole mechanism behind "just do ten minutes of it" advice that works more often than it has any right to.
- Clearing a backlog you have been avoiding
- A short workout
- Timed reading
- Letting dough rest
The alarm is a gong generated in your browser, so it works with the sound on and no connection. For work/break cycles with ambient sound, use the Focus timer; to count down to a date instead of a duration, use Countdowns.
